Ronnie Kaye

Ronnie Kaye is a psychotherapist practicing in Marina del Rey, California. Twice diagnosed and treated for breast cancer, she has made the emotional aspects of life-threatening illness a major focus of her work. Her book, Spinning Straw Into Gold, based on both her personal and professional experiences, begins with the breast cancer diagnosis and guides women through the many steps to emotional recovery. She deals with both the practical and the spiritual aspects of healing and shows how to use crisis as a springboard to personal growth.

For over twenty years, Kaye has led support groups and workshops for breast cancer patients and their families. Her efforts on behalf of cancer patients have won her considerable recognition, including the coveted American Cancer Society “Quality of Life” Award and the Lifetime TV Breast Cancer Heroes Award.

A seasoned public speaker, she has lectured internationally to both lay audiences and health care professionals, and has been featured on numerous radio and TV programs. She is on the faculty of the UCLA School of Medicine, where she teaches medical students about the human dimension of doctoring, and has been awarded a Certificate of Distinction in Medical Education.
