WDF trained in medicine in UK and obtained his PhD in molecular genetics at the ICRF in London, UK in 1994. He moved to Montreal later that year and received more training in cancer genetics. He has been in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University since 1996. Currently, he is Director of the Program in Cancer Genetics and directs clinical cancer genetics services at the McGill University Health Centre and the Sir Mortimer B. Davis-Jewish General Hospital. He has published widely in the area of breast cancer genetics.
