Directors
The World Conference on Breast Cancer Foundation is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of breast cancer survivors, health researchers, breast care advocates, and community representatives from Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and Nova Scotia who are knowledgeable in breast cancer issues. The Foundation Board directs conference planning activities through international networking, sponsor relationships, and event planning contractors.
Denise Stern, Treasurer
Denise Stern’s professional career has spanned 17 years of working with some of the top corporate companies functioning in various accounting and financial roles.
In 1993 she graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelors of Business Management Degree - Accounting option. In June of 1999, Denise received her CMA Designation as a licensed accounting professional. Aside from her corporate experience, Denise has committed passionately to serving with various charitable organizations for several years.
One of her greatest accomplishments was being and serving as the Founder and Chair for Alpha Resources for Women for seven years, an organization that provided support to single mothers in the Peel Region. She currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Kingsway Community Life Centre, and most recently as the Treasurer of the WCBCF. This new role is a life changing and an amazing opportunity working with such awesome and inspiring women, her hope is to be able to impart as much to the rest of the team and the organization as she is continuously receiving from them and the Breast Cancer community.
