Directors

The World Conference on Breast Cancer Foundation is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of breast cancer survivors, health researchers, breast care advocates, and community representatives from Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and Nova Scotia who are knowledgeable in breast cancer issues. The Foundation Board directs conference planning activities through international networking, sponsor relationships, and event planning contractors.

Louise Schoenherr

Louise Schoenherr is an educator by profession, having worked in the Winnipeg School Division as a teacher and teacher-librarian for more than 25 years. She has extensive experience in planning conferences, having served on the planning committees for Canadian Images

  - Images Canadiennes, a children’s literature conference, and three Together Conferences (conferences by and for breast cancer survivors) held in Manitoba in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

Louise is a breast cancer survivor of 11 years and has served on numerous breast cancer committees including the Manitoba Breast Cancer Information and Support Network, the Winnipeg Breast Cancer and Support Network, the CIBC Run for the Cure, the Manitoba Advocates for Breast Cancer Funding, and Breast Cancer Action Manitoba, where she is presently serving a second two-year term as President.

Louise also organized a training session for Aquasize instructors to enable communities in 14 Manitoba communities to teach Make Waves, a special Aquasize class for women post breast cancer surgery. In addition, Louise is one of the original members of the Chemo Savvy Dragon Boat Team which has been in existence for nine years.
